A Little About Me...

I am a down to earth, farmhouse loving kind of gal who has been blessed with a wonderful family! I have a wonderfully supportive husband of 17 years and 4 amazing children that have not only changed my life, but keep me crazy busy! We live in Denison with 3 horses, 14 chickens, 3 dogs and 1 cat. I love our animals and I am hoping to add goats and cows to our little farm in the near future.

I have a passion to help others and I believe in exploring natural therapies first for ailments.

My Journey...

After high school, while deciding on my major for college, I knew I either wanted to go into nursing or dental hygiene so that I could help others in some way. I ended up deciding on dental hygiene and I have spent the last 14 years practicing as a dental hygienist. However, I was not prepared for the wear and tear that profession would have upon my body. Within a few years of practice, I found myself seeking out routine chiropractic and massage care because I started to feel pain in my neck, shoulders and upper back. This care continued through the years, however the static posture requirements ultimately led to me having to cut back on my work schedule to part-time. Over the years, I started to question whether I could continue long-term with hygiene practice. Around year 11, I started to experience low back pain that progressed to the point of requiring multiple doctors visits, x-rays & MRIs, multiple injections and numerous days of missed work. It was about this time that I realized long-term, I could not continue with dental hygiene practice.

I started to look into what other lines of work that not only interested me, but also challenged me. I finally decided I would put it all in God's hands. I prayed for God to open the door He wanted for me to go through and vowed I would keep an open mind about whatever opportunity He placed before me.

After a few months of prayer, my husband ran into one of his colleague's wife that we had known for years. During the conversation of catching up,she mentioned she had recently entered massage practice and recommended that I really explore the field. After weeks of researching and multiple phone calls to her, I decided that I would start the journey to become a massage therapist myself. God blessed every turn of my journey andI have found that I love this profession! It has helped me relate to some many in need. I understand how static posture professions like dental hygiene or computer-related jobs can cause chronic pain issues. I can relate to chronic pain sufferers and the frustration, depression and anxiety it can cause. I also understand how any routine profession or sport can create cumulative muscle injuries and imbalances and the negative changes this can cause on the body.I also can relate to the relief that can be found through the healing touch of a hand!

I love this profession and I love that I truly feel like I am helping make a difference in someone's life with every massage I give. I feel truly blessed to be able to be a part of wonderful profession and work environment here at BWC. And best of all, I don't charge extra for snoring!
